Reading...

Recently a nice neighbour shared with me that I could get a library card for the little girl. The National Library Board can issue the card to her from the day she is born. How pleased I was to hear that since that would mean another six books for her...

I have to find time to bring her to the library to get the card and pick out some books for her. Since she loves reading, I should give her encouragement and introduce a wider spectrum of books.

Her favourite book at the moment is a present from Ah ma (mama's mum). It's a Peek a Boo book named "Where is the Hippo?" (you can see the book in the previous post).

Asking us to read her a book which mama & papa are glad to oblige!

A tribute to 18 months...

This little bundle of joy is finally 18 months old!

The growth of the little parcel that was so dependent on us is a miracle and the hardship of the initial year seem to have melted away like it never existed. The little girl can now understand most of what papa and I say, do things as she is told (like keep her toys, or throw away her own diaper, etc), communicate her needs to us using simple language or actions and of course run around on her own...

Heres some indication of what she will be in future...

A trip to Genting - Day 3 (Splash Pool!)

Throughout the Genting trip, we stayed indoors because the outdoor theme park was mostly rides and those "Ti-Kam" counters. This is what the little one enjoyed the most! It's an indoor hot water Splash Pool! This was unplanned and we decided at the snap of our fingers!

Hubby and I each paid RM 10 to get in while the little one got in FOC! The pool was not deep and has 2 slides where you can take a "ride" down. ;)  

The little one was originally cautious of the pool and water. But she had lots of fun after a little warm up help from papa who made her totally wet!

Suprisingly she had the courage to play with the water jets!

It's just so much fun!!!

A trip to Genting - Day 3 (Chin Swee Cave Temple)

Papa planned that we will visit the Chin Swee Cave Temple! So we decided to do it on the last day before we leave Genting for good!!! There is a free shuttle bus which we have to take from First World Hotel to another hotel where another free shuttle will bring us to the temple.

Here we are on the very packed bus! The uncle refuse to turn on the A/C until the bus moved off! Luckily mama got the portable fan and the little one was in sleveless! And she could still smile a little despite the heat...

The little one who is eager to explore and refuse to let us carry her. She was just contented to roam the temple freely. The weather was just beautiful and cool (not cold), it was great to be outdoors!

After some walking around, we decided to take a rest and let the little girl have her lunch. Seperately, we had our lunch at the temple's vegetarian restaurant. The food was nice but costly! One plate cost about RM10 to RM18! But papa and I had the chance to drink the tea that we love (for some reason can't find the tea in Singapore!) and hey! It was equally costly as well!

Note: The little one was so exhausted, she dozed off immediately on the shuttle bus on our way back to the hotel. She slept a good 2 hrs (not wanting to wake up aft 2 hrs) at the hotel room. Check out the next blog on the splashing fun she had at the Splash Pool!

A trip to Genting - Day 2

Day 2 was a relaxed day at Genting. We got up quite late that day and did not do much with our little girl. Mama and Papa were however enjoying themselves doing foot reflexology and then going for for a steamboat buffet dinner (erhmm without the little one). Only because nai nai volunteered to look after the little one and yeh yeh (who has the theme park pass) took some rides with the little one!

A trip to Genting - Day 1

We were off to Genting for a 4 day 3 night trip. Mother-in-law had booked a room at First World Hotel and it's going to be my first time in Genting.

Day 1 started bright and early in the morning. We woke up at about 6am to catch the coach to Genting! We later learnt that we should have drove on our own instead. This will give us the flexibility to leave slightly later and of course to make stopovers for meals where necessary.

Lucky for us, the 3 of us had the luxury of occupying the 5 seats at the lower deck!

Little girl took a short nap of about an hour and we stopped over at Yong Peng for breakfast. (PS: The food there is close to horrid and it was a mad rush to feed the little one and myself too!)

Downing one cup of yoghurt is not enough, the little one wants some adult food.

After one last pit stop for toilet, we finally reached Genting!!! The 2nd part of the ride was pretty horrid because the little one refused her lunch on the bus (Rightfully so since we were turning round and round along the hills on the way up). She cried for pretty long before sleeping in my arms on the bus. *oh well...*

Day 1 ended just like that because Papa was not feeling well and slept the rest of the afternoon away in the room. In the end, little gal screamed her lungs out not wanting to finish her dinner (DOUBLE SIGH from mama...).

Playdate with the December toodlers!

Looking back, it was not too long ago that this bunch of toodlers were drooling babies... Adeline invited the December babies to her place for splashing fun at her condo pool. Yummy lunch was also provided!

The weather was great for playing in the pool... Too bad we did not take a groupie photo of all the toodlers by the pool and the one below is the best I have (Ivy and Cindy's handsome tods are not in the pic). Nevertheless Adeline said she'll organise another soon and we're all looking forward to it! :)

After all the play in the pool, the little girl slept immediately in the car on our way back. We headed to Meidya because little girl's milk powder was running into dangerously low levels!

(PS: Sorry for the bad colour co-ordination. Mama got some bad fashion sense days... =P )

And for dinner... TADA!!! There is the trusty Aunt Adeline's Minced chicken with Spinach and Egg Porridge! She loves it so much that she finished more than 3/4 of the porridge in the Foogo! Haiz, I really wonder when I can cook such nice porridge that she will fall head over heels for...

It's so fun growing up!

Acutally, it's more like mama and papa are having fun seeing the little girl grow! Her vocabulary has grown, she can say words like "Touch", "Sit", "Bird", "Cat", "papa", "mama", "hug", and more... It's impressive that she speaks and understands these words. She would also understand simple actions and instructions with words like "throw", "keep", "give", "pass", "put back", "take". Time passes so fast and she is beginning to be an independent human being. With independence comes defiance, so she walks off in another direction, refuses to hold your hands, etc...

At Pearl River Restaurant @ Suntec, my parents, sisters and I had dinner! Took a few shots of her trying to feed herself...

Little girl wanted to feed herself using the spoon and most of the food landed anywhere but her mouth. Hubby was busy cleaning her up each time and I told him to just let the mess be... :p~

In the picture, you can see her trying with the fork. When she fails, she would pick up bits of her fruit to put on the spoon to feed herself (not in picture but my sister saw her do it). When lazy, she'll just pop the fruit into he mouth directly... Lolz!

Curiosity got the better of her after dinner and she got up to peer at the lazy susan to see if there's anything nice that she can have...

Not many pictures were taken but I do like this one the most... She was suppose to smile... but landed up with a photo of her cheeky self. My little sister asked her to smile but she scrunched up her face till her eyes were only 2 slits (not that her eyes are big n round to begin with)... *faints*
